BLUFF CITY POLICY ON CLAIMS A claim should be accompanied by a clear statement as to how the claimer intends to win the tricks claimed. If there is no such statement, AND if there is a possibility of a less successful line of play, even if it was from carelessness, a dispute over the claim will be resolved against the Claimer. The following will be deemed unintentional claims and shall be treated as claims made without including a line of play: 2. Dummy telling Declarer to claim. Dummy must remain silent during play of the hand. 3. Dummy congratulating Declarer before hand play has been concluded or otherwise saying anything that could be a signal or auauthorized information. Agreement to a Claim or Concession is established when the opposing team accepts a claim or concession and raises no objection prior to making a call on a subsequent board or before the round ends, whichever occurs first. Because of constraints of on-line play, agreement with a claim or concession may be withdrawn, but ONLY within 5 minutes after the relevant board has been completed. If a disagreement arises, the Director MUST be called. The Director will determine the facts and adjust the score if needed. |
